His Net Worth in 2024
According to the number of sources I checked, It’s somewhere between $2.5 million and $7 million as of 2024. Crazy, right? That kind of money really shows how much effort he’s put in, how smart he is with his business moves, and just how much people love his comedy.
In comparison, Katt Williams, known for his sharp wit and unique style, boasts a net worth in the range of $10 million to $12 million, a testament to his enduring popularity and success in the industry.
One big reason for Theo’s recent money boost is this awesome $2.5 million deal he landed with Netflix. He’s set to make six episodes for them. Plus, he’s still killing it with his stand-up gigs, podcasts, and TV appearances. All of this has pretty much made him one of the richest comedians out there.
What He Owns?
In March 2021, Theo Von bought a 4,918-square-foot home in Nashville, Tennessee, for $1.645 million. The previous owner was former Vanderbilt head coach Derek Mason, who had purchased it for $1.095 million in 2014. Additionally, Theo owns an apartment in Los Angeles, California.

So, Theo Von used to be linked to Brandi Glanville, the reality star, but these days, he’s keeping his personal life on the down low.
He decided to get sober after a rough night. He showed up to a radio interview after a cocaine binge and couldn’t even talk. He said, “The main gift that God had given me was my voice. And I couldn’t even use it because I’d been up all night just using drugs to feel good somehow, or using drugs to feel anything.”
On that same show was Darryl Strawberry, the former MLB player who was 13 years sober. That hit Theo hard. He knew he needed to change and started going to AA meetings. Reflecting on it, he said:
“I sat down and listened to people tell stories – which were my favorite thing to hear. My whole life I’ve been loving stories, man. I love your story. You know, whatever your story is I love it man because all my life when I was young I just wanted a different story.”
Childhood
Theo Von, originally named Theodor Capitani von Kurnatowski, was born on March 19, 1980, in Covington, Louisiana. His dad, Roland Theodor Achilles von Kurnatowski, passed away in 1996, and his mom, Gina Capitani, raised Theo along with his two younger sisters and an older brother.
In a 2018 chat with “The Press-Enterprise,” Theo reflected on his upbringing: “Humor is a free currency not everyone can have. Growing up poor, it was the one thing I could control. I couldn’t control money, but I could control if I was funny.”
After finishing up at Mandeville High School, Theo went on a bit of a college tour. He hit up Louisiana State University, Loyola University New Orleans, College of Charleston, University of Arizona, and Santa Monica College. Finally, in 2011, he earned his degree from the University of New Orleans.
Career
Theo’s comedy journey kicked off in Louisiana, hitting the stage for stand-up gigs. By 23, he decided to chase his dream all the way to Los Angeles. Fast forward to 2003, he was on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing,” bagging the title of Last Comic Downloaded in an online contest. Theo didn’t stop there. He joined USO tours around the globe, even performing at Guantanamo Bay.
Theo’s stand-up appearances include shows like “Live at Gotham” (2008), “Man Up, Stand-Up” (2010), and “Kamikaze Comedy” (2015). In 2012, he scored his own episode on Comedy Central’s “The Half Hour.” Theo also dabbled in “crank texting,” turning it into a blog in 2009. CollegeHumor picked it up as a column a year later.
His comedy specials are quite the hit. “No Offense” dropped on Netflix in 2016, followed by “Regular People” in 2021. He even released a comedy album in 2017, “30lb Bag of Hamster Bones,” topping the iTunes Comedy Album charts and hitting #4 on Billboard’s Comedy Albums chart. Theo’s no stranger to podcasts either. He’s a regular on “The Joe Rogan Experience” and has hosted his own podcast, “This Past Weekend,” since 2016.

Three years later, he beat out comedians like Amy Schumer and Tiffany Haddish on Comedy Central’s “Reality Bites Back.” From 2012 to 2014, he hosted “Primetime in No Time.”
